Teaching

I have run a range of seminars over the years from basic Word Processing Techniques to Medical Internet and Using the Web.

Due to the speed of change in both software and technology, the seminars are all bespoke and written as and when needed.

Databases

I have been designing database with Filemaker since 1998 and with Microsoft Access since 2001. Aside from numerous small databases, the largest projects I have been involved with to date are as follows:

Cambridge Philosophical Society: 2001

Membership and Editorial databases for the Philosophical Society. Conversion from a DOS-based database into Microsoft Access involving restructuring of the data and transfer of several thousand membership records.

Cambridge University Veterinary School Pathology Department: 2002:

Re-development of their existing Filemaker database record system into an integrated system with reports and extensive search capabilities including the option to save complex searches.

RUTH: Recording Uttlesford History: 2005:

The development of a Filemaker database system for Uttlesford Local History Recorders to be distributed on CD to members of the group. Includes an export facility to enable data to be passed to a local Council for distribution on the Internet. (See also the Ruth details page.)
